The Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Literatures offers a vigorous and cross-disciplinary study of languages, linguistics, literature, and expressive culture from across the world. Students in our program can study everything from the language diversity, to methodology of teaching languages, to the literature of South America and Russia, to the way language is processed in the human brain and used for communication. These courses are complemented by language programs in Chinese, Persian, Korean, French, Spanish and German. By studying at the programs offered by the LLL department students will gain a nuanced understanding of the intricacies of poetry and literature, linguistic structure and language use, culture and will become critical and creative writers.
