The Department of Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) of Nazarbayev University is organizing a workshop for September 3-4 2018 on the campus of Nazarbayev University. This workshop will be about preparing work for submission to high quality academic journals. Dr. Cameron Thies, the President Elect of the International Studies Association and former Editor of two academic journals (Foreign Policy Analysis and Political Science Research and Methods), will be in the key speaker and participant at this workshop. The International Studies Association (www.isanet.org) is home to many different disciplines and approaches to international studies, including history, sociology, political science, and area studies approaches. In addition to the workshop on papers, Dr. Thies will give a talk to ALL interested campus community members on how to build an academic network and the publishing process. This should be of interest to all who work in the social sciences, including graduate students. We invite all interested faculty who write on issues related to international studies to submit a proposal for a paper (one that is already near completion, preferably) to present at the workshop. Deadline for submissions is 15 July. Send submissions to Dr. Spencer Willardson (email@example.com).
